The FDA is set to release a warning that the Johnson & Johnson Covid-19 vaccine is linked to an increased risk of a rare neurological disorder called Guillain–Barre syndrome, according to multiple reports, in the latest setback for the J&J vaccine when it comes to U.S. regulators.
The condition is extremely rare, but the Johnson & Johnson
vaccine could raise the chances of Guillain–Barre syndrome by three to
five times, according to The New York Times, citing those familiar with FDA discussions.
Out of more than 12 million Johnson & Johnson doses administered in the U.S., about 100 cases of Guillain–Barre syndrome have reportedly been identified. (...)
